In January 2019 a story hit the national news that a 3 year old boy was lost in the woods of North Carolina for 2 nights in below freezing weather. When asked how he survived the ordeal he responded that his friend the bear took care of him.
This intrigued me to no end as I love painting bears. I texted Laura's step daughter Jennika
that I needed a photo of Bowie, her 3 year old, riding a bear. I explained the positioning I was seeking. Bowie's dad, Jesse, was enlisted to play the bear. They threw a bear fur looking rug over dad, Bowie got on top, and they got the photo. 48"x60" Acrylic and Oil on Canvas
